Hey, sorry for disappearing again. I really need to get back into the habit of doing Xanga again.
Well, I graduate on Sunday, the 15th. I would feel better about it if I actually had a job all lined up (plus it’s gonna drive me nuts living with my parents after being on my own for so long), but it’s still cool. My parents came Saturday and got most of my stuff moved out. My room seems a whole lot bigger now. Liz (John Henry’s girlfriend) helped out, so we took her to lunch. It was fun.
I finally got around to watching my DVD of Return of the Jedi last night. Liz watched parts of it with me. We saw a little bit of how it was tweaked a little bit between the “old” Special Edition and the DVD release (and you cinema purists can jump off a bridge for all I care), most notably the inclusion of Naboo in the final “celebration” montage, and having Hayden Christiansen inserted as Anakin Skywalker’s ghost at the very end (replacing the old actor). Neither of us are big fans of Hayden Christiansen (although we’re better than Cherie, who absolutely loathes him), but after watching the scene a couple times we decided it really wasn’t that bad. For one, he doesn’t have any lines. As much as some people would have to admit it, it does make sense to have him there because that was the point at which Anakin Skywalker “died.” There are a couple problems I do have with it: a) Anakin looks MUCH younger than Luke, which is kind of weird, and b) there is a shot where it looks like Hayden Christiansen is desperately trying not to laugh. However, one thing they did that was cool was that the first shot of the ghosts now starts with just Obi-Wan and Yoda, and Anakin fades in a few seconds later. I like that. It gives him more significance in the shot (I remember being six years old and not knowing who the hell the third ghost was).
Speaking of Star Wars, it is only ten days until Revenge of the Sith comes out. Liz and I found a website last night that I would like to pass on to you, but I will say that if you don’t want to know what happens in the movie, don’t go to this site. Granted, it’s not technically a spoiler, but the person who runs the site has compiled a “speculation” storyline based on several information sources. It’s quite detailed and it makes sense and certainly sounds plausible (although I know to take it with a grain of salt). I’m just warning you, but here is the site: http://www.beforethemagic.com
